Guys this client actually made me NERVOUS! I've been doing microblading for about 7 years now and I can confidently say that I haven't felt nervous to work on any client in years... BUT... The other day I did one of my ( very long time) friends brows. Should there be an age limit on microblading ? Be honest, what do you guys think? I say ..... HELL NO... BUT only if it's done correctly. I think it's important to remember a few things while microblading on an older client so here they are; 1.With age eyebrow hair tends to thin out or fall out all together, because of this I tend to like the results of microblading vs powder brows for my older clients . 2. The clients skin tends to move a little more and there are usually some wrinkles on the face, because of this I do not like very harsh or dramatic brow shapes.This draws too much attention to the uneveness of the skin. 3.I want to enhance their natural and MATURE beauty. This means the brow color choice may not be as bold, the shape will be softer, and the microbladed brow wont be as full. Why doesn't microblading last forever? Let me break this down in a simple way. When microblading, we are implanting pigment into the skin a lot closer to the surface vs a traditional tattoo. Because of this placement the color tends to break down and fade quicker due to internal and external factors. Althought the microblading needs to be touched up every 1-2 years, this shallow placement in the skin is what allows the hair strokes to stay super nice and crisp. Can you cover up old microblading ? ⁣ ⁣ Theoretically YES you can , as long at the color is faded enough, the shape is not to uneven, and if you are confident you can give you client exactly what they want & need.⁣ ⁣ BUT I do teach all of my student to say NO to this when they start. I have them avoid correcting another artists work or working on top of another artist work.⁣ ⁣ Cover ups/ correctional work take time. You need to be confident in your healed work, confident in being able to correct an improper shape, and advanced enough to color correct.⁣ ⁣ If you’re a new artist reading this : TAKE YOUR TIME.
