Questions Aurora Clients Ask

Real concerns, honest answers

"What if it looks fake?"

If anyone can tell you got them done, I haven't done my job. Every stroke is designed to look like it grew there.

"What if it hurts?"

Most clients say it feels like light scratching—way less than a tattoo. I use premium numbing, and you're in control the whole time.

"What if I don't like it?"

I design your brows with you BEFORE any pigment touches your skin. You approve the shape, color, and thickness. No surprises.

"Is the 12 minutes drive worth it?"

Most Aurora clients say it's the best 12 minutes they spend all month. Private studio, free parking, and results that last 12-18 months.

Sarah was part of my very first microblading experience about eight years ago, so it was especially meaningful to see her again now in her own beautiful shop. She was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She took her time perfecting my eyebrows, paid attention to every little detail, explained everything to me. I trust her vision and expertise. I walked out feeling refreshed. I'm excited to see the end results after the healing process. Sarah is incredibly talented, professional, and welcoming. I couldn’t recommend her more!

i’ve known Sara for about five years now and had the pleasure of working in the studio across from her and I absolutely loved her Work, so much that I actually sent a good 20+ of my hair clients to her for their eyebrows and they all absolutely loved it! Not one single complaint! I got mine done with her about four years ago and then just recently redid them again and as per usual, they came out amazing! Definitely recommend Sara for your micro blading needs! she is super friendly, professional, and easy to talk to and delivers every single time! Will definitely be going back again in the future :)

What Aurora Clients Say

"Aurora has plenty of salons but none with hundreds of five-star reviews and 10 years focused only on brows. The 12-minute drive from the Fox Valley area was the easiest decision I made. My brows look completely natural."

Why Aurora Clients Choose Nirvana PMU

Aurora was one of the first U.S. cities to install all-electric street lighting in 1881—that’s why it’s still called the City of Lights. That spirit of being first, of doing the work properly the first time, runs through the city’s history. It’s also what brings Aurora residents the 12 minutes south to my Shorewood studio for microblading.

The Paramount Theatre opened in 1931 with a full Art Deco interior—gold leaf, mahogany, hand-painted ceilings. Almost a century later, the Paramount has the largest Broadway-series subscription base in the country, with more than 37,000 season-ticket holders. Aurora knows quality when it sees it. So do my clients.

When Aurora clients search for “microblading near me,” they want:

  • True-to-life results — hair strokes drawn one at a time, in the direction your real brows would grow
  • Expert technique — 10+ years and 3,500+ completed treatments, brows only
  • A private studio — not a curtain-divider in a busy salon
  • Easy access — 12 minutes from downtown Aurora, free parking at the door

From the Fox River to Your Healed Brows

Whether you spend your Saturdays walking the Fox River trail, catching a summer show at RiverEdge Park, or taking the kids through Phillips Park Zoo (which began over a century ago with one elk), you live in a city that takes its history and its public spaces seriously.

My approach to microblading brings that same attention to detail. Every set of brows gets:

  • Custom face mapping — designed for YOUR bone structure, no stencils, no templates
  • Personalized color matching — pigment custom-mixed for your skin tone and undertone, formulated for how it HEALS, not how it looks Day 1
  • Hand-drawn hair strokes — every stroke placed and angled by hand, one at a time
  • Natural results — brows that look like they grew there, not like they were drawn on

See what’s possible: Real healed results from clients like you (HEALED only—never fresh/day-1, because day-1 brows are 40-50% darker than your real result).

What Healed Microblading Actually Looks Like (the 4-Phase Cycle)

This is the part most Aurora salons don’t explain before they sell you a service:

  1. Days 1-3 — Bold & Dark. Pigment sits on the surface; brows look 40-50% darker than the final result. This is normal.
  2. Days 4-7 — Scabbing. Skin heals; pigment flakes off in tiny patches. Do not pick.
  3. Days 7-14 — Ghost Phase. Brows look light or even gone. Most clients panic here. Don’t.
  4. Days 14-28 — True Color. Pigment settles to about 30-40% of the initial intensity. This is your real result.

A touch-up at 6-8 weeks locks in the healed result. An annual refresher every 12-18 months keeps it looking fresh for years. I walk every client through this on Day 0 so you know exactly what to expect.

By the time that first refresher comes around, most clients ask me the same thing: a year in, how much of this can still change? Almost all of it. Shape, depth of color, softer or bolder — that is all still on the table, because the pigment has been fading the whole time. The one piece that does not work that way is technique. If light machine shading ever gets added to your brows — that is what makes them combination brows, and for coarse hair that grows in patchy it is genuinely the better call — then shading is what every touch-up and every refresher after it has to be. Hair strokes will not lay into a brow that is already saturated. So I start most people at hair strokes alone and let them see the finished set before anything else gets decided. It keeps next year’s options open instead of spending them on Day 0.

Getting Here from Aurora

The drive from Aurora to my Shorewood studio is short and straightforward:

  • Via I-88 East: about 12 minutes. Take I-88 East, then Route 59 South to 805 W Jefferson St Ste I, Shorewood.
  • Via Route 30: about 15 minutes. A nice alternative from the Boulder Hill side of town.
  • Via Route 59 South: a direct shot if you’re coming from the Fox Valley Mall area.
  • Parking: free dedicated lot at the studio. No street parking, no meters.

Many Aurora clients combine their appointment with something else in the area—a show at the Paramount, lunch at one of the downtown spots near Stolp Island, or First Fridays in Downtown Aurora when the galleries open late and there’s live music on the streets. Your healed brows will be fully settled and photo-ready in about two weeks—perfect timing for the next First Friday.

The Aurora Client Experience

Unlike a busy Aurora salon where you’re a 30-minute slot between two other clients, my private Shorewood studio means you get my full attention from the moment you walk in. I explain every step of the microblading process, I show you the mapping before any pigment touches your skin, and I answer every question—including the ones you didn’t know to ask.

For first-time clients, I recommend reviewing my pre and post-care instructions before your appointment. The prep matters: caffeine, alcohol, and certain medications can affect how pigment takes during the session.

From professionals working near the downtown Aurora business district to families in Boulder Hill, Eola, and the Fox Valley area, my Aurora clients consistently tell me three things they value most: the unhurried pace, the honest education about what microblading is and isn’t, and the Shorewood studio’s private setting where they can ask anything without an audience. After 3,500+ treatments, those three things still aren’t standard at most salons—and Aurora clients notice.

If you’re weighing Aurora against the other Chicago suburbs as you decide where to go for microblading, my guide to microblading across the Chicago suburbs walks through how to choose a specialist, what the investment really buys, and every community I serve. Naperville clients ask many of the same questions—my Naperville microblading page covers the drive from that side of the Fox Valley. The candidate quiz and before-and-after guide are useful starting points before you book your free consultation.
